disclaimer

Disclaimer
The following material relates to my personal experience in designing and fabricating an outrigger type frame to convert my two motorcycles to the four wheeled “Trike+Plus” (quad) configuration.  If you are considering doing such a conversion, I’m sure you will find my thoughts, approach and experiences useful as you make your own decisions as to design and material choices.  I am not selling a design to anyone.  I am only describing in detail what I did for myself in undertaking this task.  I have included the photos, drawings and material sources simply to illustrate the process.
My decisions were my own.  My workmanship is impeccable and I am extremely safety conscious.  Any decisions you make will be your own.  I have no way of knowing the skill level or common sense of the reader.  I therefore disclaim any responsibility for the acts that any other person may take on their own behalf after being aware of what I have done in completing my own successful conversion.  If you wish to sue someone, go buy a commercially available conversion kit.
Contents:
I kept a daily written and photographic log of my progress in the design and fabrication of my outrigger frame.  I reviewed this material and extracted what I wish I’d had at my fingertips when I started.  I’ve discussed the up-front considerations that one should address before deciding on a specific frame configuration and the steps along the way in fabricating a sturdy design.  I’ve also included numerous pictures of the elements as they were fabricated and assembled.  I have also provided work flow charts and highlighted things that can go wrong if one doesn’t plan ahead.  “A fool learns by his own mistakes … a wise man learns by those of others”.
Lastly, I included comments on the riding features and qualities of a conversion compared to those of a standard motorcycle.  This is something to really think about before spending a lot of time and money on such a project.
